Happy Ever After

Hey Guys,
In pretty much every Disney film ever made there is a happy ever after.......in fact in pretty much any Romantic Comedy there is also a happy ever after. Usual tale of events, girl meets boy, boy upsets girl......then he realises what an idiot he has been, runs to the airport/train station etc. to declare his undying love for her then they live happily ever after. Unfortunately life isn't quite so simple!
Although the modern day one's are getting a bit more realistic......take Frozen, Anna falls for Hans, who in fact is a knob head disguised as a good looking guy(I've met a few of those but thats a whole new e-mail!).....Kristof falls for Anna and she is clueless as she is blinded by Hans looks. Finally she realises what an idiot she has been and goes for the right choice in the end!
You might be wondering what all this has to do with health and fitness? Well life is a constant journey.....it's great to aim for and achieve certain things, weather that's 'getting' a certain partner, job or body. After a while, these things that we were aiming for become the norm, like being in a hot country you acclimatise.
We sometimes find that when we get the body we wanted and worked for.....we are not as happy as we thought we would be. It's great to start with, and then it becomes the norm. That's when a lot of people are in danger of giving up and slipping back into old habits.
I have recently done a photoshoot for West Yorkshire Fire Service Charity Calendar 'Red Hot Sirens' (anyone wants a copy let me know and will put some to one side) and I was working out extra hard and being extra careful with what I ate in the run up to the shoot. However the couple of days after the event I started eating food that I wouldn't normally have (even when I didn't have a photo shoot to aim for). It was like a switch in my head had been flicked and I turned into a bread and sugar eating monster. Now I soon got back to healthy eating........others may not and that's when they spiral back to where they started.
The key to success is to love the journey and to love yourself........Love what's good about you and either change or accept what you don't like. If you have a slip up or a bad day and you missed training, accept it and move on. Start each day afresh. The only person that can change you, is you!
Once you see that diet and fitness is a journey and lifestyle change, not just a quick fix for one event in your life then things will become easier. Concentrate on giving it your all in the moment you are in......fill your trolley with healthy food, max it out in your exercise sessions and only thing I would say to plan ahead is your meals!
You'll soon start to create the body you want and learn to love it!
Andrea
